my family was very excited, my dad made an effort to be with them at the field everyday to be a voluntary coach apart from other parents. my brother boughtt adrian a pair of football boots, and the teachers we so excited telling me about the kids getting their jersey...
adrian got a t-shirt, plain white tee with a big no 14 printed ot the back, with a black short. and that's about it. but he was very happy to show off that t-shirt that (might only cost RM5) to everybody in the house..
adrian was so disciplined, he told me that his teacher wanted them to put on a long soccer socks, and i managed to get him a pair. he went to bed early the night before the game.. and i was busy preparing everything from food, to clothes to eveything that i could think of, though my previous experince, i could anticipate that it would be a very hot day and very chaotic with so many people around. Since my dearest significant other a.k.a HUBBY unable to make it to the game, my brother "Angah" volunteered to came with us for moral support.. (and some techy things) how could i ever thanked him..
we went to the place, located at the other side of penang island.. a very long drive there... reached there, met adrians friends and teachers.. and to my surprise, i saw kids wearing a very sriking jersey, (yeah like the one we saw in world cup).. and i thought they were invited from clubs.. special trained soccer kids, ironically, to my dismay, they were just little kindy kids, just like my Adrian.. and where the hell they got that striking jersey??? finally adrian teacher told me the actual budget for a jeysey is RM28 per pair.. well that sounded reasonable if my son got what the other kids were wearing.. but that was far from happening..
According to the teachers, the kids that wearing better jerseys are all from the mainland (Seberang Perai Utara, Seberang Perai Tengah and Seberang Perai Selatan), and less priviledge kids were from the Island (Timur Laut and Barat Daya District)
Penang only have 5 Districs and the total of school participating is 29, and My son's team could end up at 6th place... not bad at all huh!!
Well, i dont think that kids would care less about whether or not the jersey were striking, what they did know, they wanted to play... if i were in their shoes, i had already lose morally... being judgemental over the stupid jersey.. i think it is wise for us to at least learn from them..
but that is not the rason, what i wanted to point out is that, what is wrong with the management? why is there double standards? the mismanagement is so obvious that i actually wanted to forward this to the ministers, but will they have time to entertain me?? QUESTION???
Ok one more, you must always congratulate ur kids on whatever that they achieved, be it in academic, sports or music.. whatever,.. always hugs them and say.. good work and i love you, because there is a case with somebody close to me that his parents never acknowledge any of his achievements, even he had represented Malaysia, and he ended up feeling outkast.. it sure do more harm than good when ur kid felt that way..so fellas.. remember..remember..remember...
warming up
my son no 14, with his team mates
i think they won this game
