care for a bus ride?

Fellas, just one simple question.. when was the last time you'v ebeen to Puduraya Bus Terminal? I was there on Sunday (came from Penang to KL), Monday (From Pudu To KLIA and back)  and Tuesday (from KL to Penang).. to be frank, the new terminal kind of exceeds my expectation..

3 stories, a wole storey of air conditioned waiting area, the ticket counter was just like what you would find in the airport, just better, the floor ias carpetted.. Blimey! Carpetted floor for a bus terminal!! It it was really very comfortable, nomore smoke, no more people congestion.. Way better than LCCT..(Sorry to say but it is!!!)

I'm a frequent traveller, i sometimes soend the nigh  in LCCT, and with the low fares they were offering, more and more people choose to fly nowadays. At one glance, the airport sort of remind me of the hot and stuffy Puduraya.

and for a change, why dont you guys give a visit to Puduraya now and start rating.. i'm sure you wont be disappointed. :)

SEMPURNA by Andra & The backbone

Kau begitu sempurna
Dimataku kau begitu indah
kau membuat diriku akan slalu memujimu

Disetiap langkahku
Kukan slalu memikirkan dirimu
Tak bisa kubayangkan hidupku tanpa cintamu

*
Janganlah kau tinggalkan diriku
Takkan mampu menghadapi semua
Hanya bersamamu ku akan bisa

Reff:
Kau adalah darahku
Kau adalah jantungku
Kau adalah hidupku
Lengkapi diriku
Oh sayangku, kau begitu
Sempurna.. Sempurna..

Kau genggam tanganku
Saat diriku lemah dan terjatuh
Kau bisikkan kata dan hapus semua sesalku

for the exercise junkies.. ever wonder how much calories you have burnt today??

OK 1st thing 1st..

Calorie Table
ExerciseApproximate Calories Burned
Walking (brisk)100 calories burned per mile
Jogging120 calories burned per mile
Swimming100 calories burned in 20 minutes
Bicycling (easy pace)100 calories burned in 20 minutes
Aerobic exercise to music100 calories burned in 20 minutes
Gardening (vigorous)100 calories burned in 30 minutes

We usually burn 85-125 calories per mile. (depend on age and weight) A km is .62140 of that so probably around 53 to 77 for a km.

Walking at a moderate pace will burn about 100 per mile, running at a very fast pace will max at at about 125. Jogging burns only 5 to 10 more per mile than walking..

for the shopaholic like me, if you are 68kg, you'll burn 68calories in an hour of walking... only 68 but at least it is something isn't it!

the conclusion is.. if you are too lazy, just walk will do.. aim for 10'000 steps a day.. i did 5600 steps in 4km.. not reaching bulls eyes, but at least i did something... below is the link for calories burning calculator..

http://calculators.hpathy.com/calories-burned.asp

Well Honey,

I'm the type that admires myself so much.. in fact too much that i love looking into the mirrors or anything that reflects my reflection.. :) any chance i have..

but one day i woke up, i stand in front of my long mirror and i hate what i saw.. "oh crap!!.. i am a fat bump!!!" i tried on my favourite jeans.. oh no!! then my kebaya.. damn!!! i should stop eating craps!! so i stop eating craps.. but after a while i got bored.. i felt hungry.. i felt like fainting.. no doubt, the best way to look good and feel healthy is to exercise and eat right.. ooh.. you could do the exercise with the prefix "s" if you have a partner but i don't think it would do much good.. :)

i use to be a very active person, i used to cycle for Penang when i was 12, till i was 15.., (no doubt, dad was a national cyclist, he represented Malaysia in 1977 in KL and 1979 in Jakarta Sea Games, ended up being the Chief of judge in most of the national cycling event and of jury of appeal in Kuala Lumpur Commonwealth Games; i guess it just runs in the family); enough of my dad achievement.. oh dad.. I'm so proud of you!!

i use to run along Gurney Drive waterfront everyday when my dad was serving at a fire station nearby (where i bumped into my 1st serious boyfriend.. he was reading a book by the promenade.. hopeless romantic but totally the opposites!! flashback! couldn't help it sorry!!!) , and ran in the stadium everyday when i was staying near a stadium.. i went swimming a few laps every weekend.. never failed, i played volley ball, i played tennis, i played softball.. some golfing but i stop because i hate it.. it left me with bruises on my palms..

BUT it was now history.. after i have change my status from single to married.. and for about 6 years.. i lived a very doom and unhealthy life, i haven't sweat "in a healthy" way.. and when my body was out off proportion, something really..really bad happened to me.. REALLY BAD, it turns my world around... and it really gave me a huge pang in the head, i have no choice .. that i have to start moving my ass or i loose something that really matters to me.. i was desperate..

it was hard to start.. yes it was.. after leaving it for so many years.. SO HARD!!! i started off with dieting, eating only salad.. it doesn't works at all.. i am naturally a big eater, salad will kill me. just leave it to the herbivore OK.. i just couldn't!! i started to smear the hot slimming cream/gel all over, it did not work as well.. all craps.. started taking diet pills/drinks/whatever.. the biggest scam there is.. and of course torcher myself in the tight and unbearable corset that almost cut off your oxygen intake; i even bought a tummy massage machine from OGAWA that cost me almost rm400, and it is laying under the bed, hardly being touched, and some ridiculous other mechanical "paste and leave it device and it will work out ur tummy.. sort of stuff" so much of wastage.. finally i bought a twister, well it started out OK.. but i was still not happy enough to start seriously..

one thing that everybody should have in their household is a stepper.. a mini stepper.. this mini machine turns my life around.. just 10 minutes.. and you'll burn 200 calories.. that is half a plate of rice.. and a resistant band.. MUST have!! I'm not trying to market this thing to you, i got nothing.. if you buy this, except for another healthy friend, i guess.. isn't that what matters?

mini stepper, the one i have at home

mini stepper with resistant band

resistant band

This is how u use the resistant band if you wonder..

At 1st i exercise for the sake of loosing weight, ironically, i didn't lose any.. i read and they say its normal.. my muscle is building up so its the muscle mass I'm having, not the fat, many says my body is tighter and firmer, i was more than happy.. it was the real motivation to keep on moving.. well fellas, do not fret if you don't loose weight in the 1st few weeks of serious work out..

apart from just exercising, i read.. google things.. related to exercising..

After a while, i get a little smarter, i started to set objectives.. which part of my body would i concentrate the most.. in my case.. my bat wing arms.. and of course over sized hip - but this one defines the curvy me though :)

for people who have bat wing arms like me this link would come in handy..

http://www.livestrong.com/article/130749-exercises-flabby-arms-bat/

from stepping on the stepper 300 steps a day in the house, i started walking outdoor, then i started jogging, and now, i could run.. and cycle.. hard to believe.. but i did just that.. every day.. or every other day if I'm not too caught up with other commitments..

one more last tip.. very important.. if you want to lose ur bulging tummy, you have to inhale and tuck in ur tummy and hold ur breath, as much as u could.. it works for me, in a year, i don't have that bulging tummy anymore.. (people use to say i was pregnant!!! that bad huh!!!) the best thing is,
NO SIT UP involves.. NO SWEAT.. but do this everyday religiously, as much as u could, like u did with your Kegel exercise.. anytime, anywhere.. and trust yourself... bye bye tummy..

ooh.. REMINDER though, this is for the bulging tummy, not the "flabby after delivering a 3.6kg baby type of tummy you could fold it into two" you ladies sure know what i am talking about here aren't u?; Sadly, no cure for that as for now, except for cosmetic surgery.. ermmm.. still looking for alternative if there is any... i will definitely share with u people..cheers..

Old diaries and the lesson learnt? is there any??

i was one of those diary junkie, i must say..  the place where i pour all my life in.. but is is not safe to keep a diary??? today as i was reading through an old note book cum diary i found my hubby's note beside something i wrote.. how could he tresspassed my territory?when did he do that??? but God save me, nowadays with the widely use of blogs, i feel much safer.. nobody could ever reach it.. unless told.. and of course having an MSc in Green Building, i'd love to participate expressing my life digitally.. it sure save loads of papers... done.

i am really in need to update a list, but i couldnt find it.. where should it be? in which diary?? so many of them.. anyway after i browse through some pages and gigling away on some stupid encounters...  in between my lecture notes and some things to do/to buy list i found something else that makes me think.. i was only 21 when i wrote this.. its in Malay

..."i just want to be what other people want to be, other people do so much of weird things to be what they want to be.. which is being happy and comfortable"..

after 12 years, am i happy and comfortable? and i found this too

"alahai, nasib malang betoi!!apa yang dihajatkan dah dapat.. tup tup tiba2 saja kena tinggal.. tension!! Terasa macam nak muntah terkeluar perut" i might have wrote this because of a break up.. i supposed..

"apa yang x nak datang tergolek2, yang nak semua lari" just dont expect life to be fair!! << this must be from another break up.. or another stupid encounter, or after bumping into an ogre looking male.. uhh.. totally a horrible experience.. i used to date ogres.. what was i thinking?!!!! (well actually this is a total exageration, that male wasnt an ogre after all.. maybe he was just not my type..  and i simply called him ogre.. i am terribly MEAN.. and heartless but what about the people who used me like an object??? isnt that what we call KARMA, what you give you get back, what u get u give back.. the 2nd phrase sounds silly though - its like u get a broken heart, and later u cause heartbreaks)

and again after 12 years.. there are not much changes.. nothing changed.. i'm much the same "ME" i'm so transparent and somehow naive.. people could just  penetrate me (not the other penetration OK!!) and used me just like that..

my significant other often tell me that he married me because he wanted to protect me from trusting people blindly, from falling into the hands of the wrong person.. even though i could be very mean when it comes to "choosing" my type of date, my heart is somehow so pure.. i never had bad feelings towards others.. i'm not the negative type... it is good to have doubts on people though but when will i start learning??? seriously, i dont have the answer.. God bless me... guide me to righ path.. Amin..

whose fault? whose faulty??? and we thought you guys are efficient!! oh come on!

i received this text from a close friend of mine Miss MA "real name undisclose" yesterday morning,
:) it goes like this:

"Salam Marteen n (another BFF of mine Miss R), sorry to disturb you, just want to seek for your legal advise, my driving license will expire tomorrow, and this morning i couldnt renew at JPJ due to "outstanding JPJ summons" in year 2006 which i already settled by attending the court in 2007, i'm still waiting for JPJ to call me to update the status, but u know how the govt. staff do their work..until now they can't solve it, they give a reason - maybe the documents were missing during the JPJ office relocation from Seberang Jaya to Bukit Jambul, my question here, can i go and report to any party for example PDRM, coz i dont think they can settle by tommorrow, and i need to drive here and there, this is for my safety reason, either to avoid another summon because of not renewing the license or in case of accidents while driving. pls advise"

and i say.. man.. what a long text to type.. i Totally understand how she felt.. my friend,a very responsible law abiding citizen.. i seriously dont know what to reply to her.. because i dont think JPJ will keep documents such as receipts and stuff.. they just dont put things into archive.. not just them, but most of the department i know dont have special fire proof/whatever proof room to keep things like this, i have work with these people, i know.. when i was working with the developer, some authorities (to be exact, some people in the authority department) kept asking me for plans because they couldnt  find it, maybe misplaced or totally gone.. just like that) mind you, plan printing is costly.. and for developers, approved plans are priceless.. and we have a vault to keep them, because my ex-boss use to tell me that we could never rely on other people to keep these documents for us.. he was right, when one of the councils office i was dealing with was caught in flood, all the important documents were totally damaged.. it is natural disaster but what are the preventive measures taken? NONE..

but i think hospitals are excluded, Alwi used to deal with them for old documents and they still have it.. so KUDOS Health Ministry, keep up the good work, and i think you should start thinking of archiving things in digital form, isnt that more space saving???

i asked Miss MA, how does she renewed her license last year because it was a 2006 summon? and surprisingly she had no problem with that last year renewal.. isn't that crazy? why is this dinasour age summon suddenly pop up out, off nowhere? Lucky that Miss MA did keep the receipt... so she had to deal with less problem the next day.. God Bless you buddy...

the conclusion here is:
Never trust anyone (in this case the agencies.. government, TNB..bla..bla because my electrical bill suddenly hike up to rm400, with a "tunggakan" and i paid every month.. and this crazy ASTRO suddenly block my smart card, i paid them 2 weeks ago.. what is going on with everyone?) especially when it involves paying for bills/summons/taxes u name it.. KEEP whatever proof you could in a special file.. so you wont be caught in trouble.. because they just love to give us that..

something about - being "efficient" in "higher educational institution"

2000 new students enrolled for distance learning, and only 2 registration counters were open? the scenario is similar to queing for an american idol audition... and this happened in an APEX university.. something ironic i should say??** my ex boss in Intel always use this word.. "MALU-ation" something that cause a great shame.. obviously it is a Manglish that is not official and coudnt be found in any dictionaries...

i was in USM earlier today to hit the running track at the stadium, and i bumped into a massive crawl of traffic, unfamiliar vehicle registration, from all over the country," is this the new students? but they are still on long leave.. ohh.. on second thought, they must be the distance learning undergraduates"; at the first glance, they were very excited.. so many cars.. thousands i guess.. and the marching field was packed with cars and even busses..i saw the Navy bus and some military trucks, (the most obvious one), they must have contributed to make up the crowd too. Quietly i said.. "welcome fellas.. you are now officially my junior.. :), have fun" (but i dont think they would have the same sort of fun that i got when i was astudent back then.. it was hell lots of fun!!) or its not too over reacted if i welcome them as my students, too bad that my school didn't offer any distance learning course.. or the will end up having this hot mommy fabulous as one of their "tutor".. my students were happy to have me around..  aren't you fellas?? hehe

i went home without completing my run, the stadium has been used for the Uni family day, the night before, now i know what the firecrackers i saw last night was all about..

it was noon, i was there again.. for some other unavoidable circumstances, and this time the crowd was growing worst and restless.. i could hear people complaining ** (what i mention in the 1st para) and so many more complains coming along later...as an alumni, i feel very bad. i am so proud of this Uni, i refuse to go to other places to continue with my RLKA (Rancangan Latihan Kakitangan Akademik - some courses for the PhD students) because i wanted to do it here in this special Uni, i even end up teaching at this place even though it is just a part time job..

what really happened actually??? where were the staff?? 2 registration counters for 2000 students? (sorry i have to repeat this again.. because it sounded so ridiculous to me) some even bring their whole family with them. I could see little children running ecerywhere and crying, pregnant mothers feeling restless, the older generation (who accompanied their children not solely for the undergraduates registration but also to spend school holiday and attending weddings i guess).. they hate to be in the middle of this chaos; and of course everyone was fed up to their teeth.. and all i could hear them say.. "TERUK!!BERATUR PANJANG!!PENAT" (aweful!! Long que!! exhausting!!) everything was not well organized, from the constantly changing time table, to the registration counter.. and some even complained that the form was not correctly design (well, some people are really so observant and they really pay attention to this minute details) REGISTRATIONwise was a total disaster.. the only organized things i saw was the security team; taking care of the traffic with full dedication and sweet smiles under the hot sun.. KUDOS.. so far their system and they themselves are unbeatable...

well.. in my experience, registering into USM 3 times (2nd year matriculation, undergraduates, postgraduates..) the process was smooth.. and my graduation was even the most efficient i know and my parents really extend their recognition to everyone involved.. they went to many graduations, in many higher institutions, and  they still say that my uni is the best.. i  wonder how they ended up having a disaster at the registration counter on the 4th of June 2011? is there any answers??

this is nothing related to the DAY, its about me.. looking at them, i was wondering if i should proceed with my dream.. to put on the hunters hat and embroidered cloak during graduation.. ermm.. am i ready?? i guess so.. i have put it on hold for almost 10 years now..  and i think i have finally found a suitable title for my research, yet to compose the synopsis.. may god bless me and give me the courage to make a move on this one.. to make my long KIV dream a reality :) cheers...

I sleep late everyday and i found 4 strands of white hair on my head!!! (i initially have 2 since years before)

Have you ever realized that there is something related between going to bed early and staying youthful???  lately i was always stay up late, "doing nothing"** or just simply waiting for my hubby to surprise me with his late night/ early morning call.. and later to my dismay, i found some additional white hair on my head.. which freaked me out obviously!!!

** in my dictionary doing nothing simply means doing things that cant be disclose.. or even comprehend.. and kindly don't ask me what it is.

seriously.. getting additional digits on my age is ok, but getting more white hair?!! oh come on!! mom had her 1st (real white hair.. the one with the long strand) when she was over 50.. and i'm only in my early 30's.. imagine what would have happen if i reach my 50's.. i dont even want to imagine it!!

in the previous era.. we never heard about anti aging serum or creams or injections. their beauty routine is to put on "bedak sejuk" (beads made from rice soaked then crushed and make it like a bed and then let it dry (thats the process of producing) and added with water and later smear all over face like a mask.. (that is how to use it) it was very popular back then)

Beads of bedak sejuk
Pieces of bedak sejuk
This is how people will normally  store it,
using Nescafe glass jar

and of course GOING TO BED EARLY.. (easy for them to do it because of there was no distraction no entertainment, cable TV, late night sale, late night supper, they dont even have electricity so what else they should do despite going to bed early and ermm maybe producing more heirs.. :)

and.. returning to my "real point".. there is a reason why people created the term "BEAUTY SLEEP".. getting enough sleep at the right time will keep you youthful.. check out this link...

http://www.anti-aging-information.net/lack-of-sleep.html

because, while u are in a deep sleep, a self made anti ageing hormone is being produced by your body (pituitary glands to be exact)... this hormon is called HGH - Human Growth Hormone.. (that simple eh?) you might want to check this out too...

http://www.pponline.co.uk/encyc/human-growth-hormone.html

so fellas, start hitting the sack early will ya..  and for couples, just post poned the activities that you have in mind to the next morning.. it has its own function doing "it" in the morning.. when there is a natural calling i repeat.. "NATURAL CALLING".. it will lifted up your mood and youll be happier, healthier and no doubt younger looking too...

ok.. thats about it.. and we dont have to wonder why they call it beauty sleep ever again.. :)

sensitive issue.. malay first before malaysian or malaysian first before malay??

I was having a casual meeting in Georgetown White  Coffee in KOMTAR (located at the heart of Georgetown), the place where my "social life" and many other Penangites my age begins.. members of the meeting consist of 1 Old Frees (Penang Free School) and 3 Ex Georgians (we never called ourselves OLD Georgian or its going to be a disgrace to our school.. :)

After the meeting we had a chit chat about our place of origin.. the four of us are purely from Penang.. like myself, i never left Penang since i was born (except for 2 conditions.. followed my dad who had to be transfered to Rompin, Pahang when i was 2 then Kuantan till i was 6.. and later when i got married, i have to escort my hubby to places.. the furthest is Tawau.. but this is not permanent.. we kind of comfortable having the status "married bachelor")

My 1st school was SRK Seri Permai, Bayan Baru. Then SRK Convent Balik Pulau. Then i was accepted to be in one of the most prestigious school around, St Georges Girls School, and later i continued studying in MRSM Balik Pulau, then accepted to Matriculation centre KULIM (that is the furthest), and came back to Penang island to continue with my 2nd matriculation year, and later being enrolled in the School of Housing, Building and Planning, in USM main campus which is also in Penang.. and finally My masters degree.. in the same place... Careerwise.. well.. i have worked in Penang all my life, from the smallest enterprise to the biggest multinational company.. from giving personal tuition clasess to teaching part time in uni.. and it all happened in Penang.. (its kind of preparing a mini resume)

This is where i'm most comfortable to be.. 90% of my family is here.. the food i love is here, the places i love to hang out is here, places i shop.. (except for IKEA).. Penang is HOME... i hate going to KL because of the traffic.. i hate going to other places maybe because, i do feel the lack of warmness..

Returning to what  the Old frees told me, he was Penang 1st, others second.. well i kind of agree with him...

Those people who sell outrageously pricey houses in Penang to outsiders, they should follow what the Kelantan Government did. Kelantan are only for Kelantanese.. Nobody else could buy a piece of land in Kelantan.. this is what i was told.. but is it true???

If only the younger generation were not streamlined by different set of school curricular ( i dont want to be direct but i think u know what am i trying to say here), we would have been more harmonious..

With the changing of government and everything, we are still the same people.. maybe the shopkeepers now are a bit stingy about giving us plastic bags.. the charged us for it, but i feel.. Penang is special.. I am proud to be called PENANGITES.. Yay!!! so what are you???

‎10 years of courting and ironically after 5 weeks of marriage???? i Still couldnt believe it!

the wedding was witnessed by the whole world and today i was so shock to hear this news..
Prince William Divorced his Kate Middleton?

i got this terrible news from here:

http://www.theonion.com/articles/prince-william-divorces-kate-middleton-after-5-wee,20648/

and i think the more reliable source to refer to is E News.. and i only found this:

http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b245073_solo_prince_william_horses.html

nothing and nothing more.. so it is just a scam.. but poor couples they are, so prone to speculations.. whatever it may be, just want to wish them and "myself" the best.. amin..

P/S:
my friend Lina, used to advice me with this "be gentle in loving a man",

and i personally think that we could never bind a man's heart neither by a marriage certificate, a ring nor a child.... something that we woman couldn't guarantee..  The love and affection comes from God, God will take it away in a split second if he wanted to, never stop praying for best.. for the love to stay alive..

HOWEVER,

"the only ETERNAL LOVE exist is , the LOVE for GOD"
.. so people, start loving our GOD.. ameen..
